Bob Nohavec, the founder of Joyful Sound Christian Music, was born on a small farm in Nebraska and currently resides in Park City. He received his Bachelor's degree in music education from Doane College (Nebraska), his Master of Music degree from the University of Nebraska, and his Doctor of Education degree from the University of South Dakota. He served as a music teacher and church choir director for many years in Nebraska and South Dakota and currently directs the choir at Mountain Vista United Methodist Church in West Jordan. In 1977, he and his wife Jean Ann (who plays in the BELLS OF JOYFUL SOUND) came to Utah, and one year later he started the music ministry of the JOYFUL SOUND. Bob and Jean Ann have a son, a daughter, and 4 grandchildren. He enjoys photography, golf, fishing, and he likes contemporary Christian, classical, and country music. Bob's favorite TV shows are Cold Case, Without A Trace, Frasier, and Monk, but he also enjoys viewing movies and all sporting events..
