Mary's picture
Mary was born and raised in Puyallup, Washington. Music became a major part of her life when, as a child, her father brought home an old upright piano he had been given. She began taking piano lessons immediately and fell in love with it. She studied music and art in school and naturally decided to become a music teacher. For the past 24 years, she has developed a successful piano teaching studio and has the privilege of teaching some wonderful students. In the past, she has also enjoyed teaching Elementary music and directing the school choir. In addition to playing and teaching the piano, she loves arranging music, drawing, writing short stories and poetry, and recently began playing the harp. Mary and her husband Ed have lived in several places around the country until he retired from the Air Force in 2005. At that time, they moved to Kaysville, Utah to start a new civilian career. She and Ed have five children and three grandchildren. She joined the Bells of Joyful Sound in March of 2010 and thoroughly enjoys this new opportunity to create beautiful music with wonderful people.
